Maïté Wustner is a leather goods craftsman that we discovered in her Parisian workshop. We were immediately seduced by the work of this former prototypist at Hermes and Celine, focusing on the simplicity of shapes and the beauty of the leather.
Who are you?
A young thirty-years old "craftman-designer". A "sweet-salty" woman with mixed origins, aware of women needs and of their insight of everyday life.
How did you start in fashion?
As far as I remember, I always loved creating and producing. Today, it is different, because I learned from my experience. I trained in Hermes workshops. And it all began with the opening of the Maite Wustner Workshop, three years ago.
How would you define your style?
Classical and timeless.
What inspires you?
To give life to an object, to use a fabric as nice as leather, to caresse= or to tame it...
A few words about this collection...
I choose carefully my leather pieces at the best tanneries. This collection is made for different moments of the day. A useful, smart, tender, comfortable bag for the day or the evening. At the end of the day, it is almost custom-made.
What are you most proud of?
What I am doing: creating.
Where do you manufacture your products?
In my own workshop.
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
Vivaldi Four Seasons.
